Both sides working to pass pre-election stimulus bill.
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi met on Tuesday to hash out the details of the country’s second major economic recovery bill to tackle the economy crippled by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Speaker Pelosi’s office, both sides made progress toward a deal that would bring the bill to a vote prior to the election in two weeks.
However, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell warned the White House against making any sort of COVID-19 relief deal with his democrat opponents. He is concerned that such a deal between the Treasury Secretary and Speaker Pelosi would divide his colleagues faced with the choice to support a deal that would contradict conservative positions they had supported over the last few months.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That House Speaker Pelosi would be used by God to bring aid to the American people.
- For Treasury Secretary Mnuchin to be led by the Lord to bring financial help to those in need.
- For Congress to be led to the best course of action for the nation.
